She is survived by seven foster children who are Mrs. Nellie Utz, of Madison, Mrs. Lillian Ford of Front Royal, Mrs. Jennie Mae Dodson of Culpeper, Mrs. Lucy Compton of Castleton, Mrs. Virginia Coppedge of Madison, William Wharton of Strasburg and Garfield Wharton of Orange.
She also leaves two brothers, Robert and Walter Wharton, both of Castleton; and 37 grandchildren.
The pallbearers were Haywood Wharton, Robert Wharton, Richard Wharton, Henry Wharton, David Norman, Nick 'Norman, Ennis Norman and Marshall Burke.
