Thompson

Douglas Gordon Thompson, 73, of Front Royal died August 10, 1981 in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. He was a native of Rappahannock County, the son of the late Edward C. and Christiebell Clark Thompson. Thompson was a retired farmer and was a member of Willis Chapel United Methodist Church.

A funeral service is scheduled for today, Thursday, at Willis Chapel Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Weems and Dr. Melton Wright conducting the rites. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virginia W. Thompson; three sons. Douglas G., Jr. and James E. Thompson, both of Anaheim, Calif., and Lynn M. Thompson of Front Royal; three daughters, Delores Thompson, Betty Thompson and Doris Panoi, all of Front Royal; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Richard North and Mrs. Daniel Williams, both of Front Royal.
