Rappahannock’s landfill controversy moved outside the county last week when two Neighboring counties considered the possible impact on their residents. Fauquier County put the question on its agenda at the county Board of Supervisors’ meeting on Tuesday, while Culpeper’s landfill committee questioned Rappahannock’s engineering firm at a meeting Thursday.
After hearing a presentation by Cathy Smith, an Orlean resident who opposes the proposed landfill on the former Stover property east of Amissville, Fauquier’s board declined to write a letter in opposition to Rappahannock’s plan either to the state or to Rappahannock County.
