Spend less time in areas with higher concentrations of radon, such as the basement. In planning the conversion of an unfinished basement into a living area, test for radon before beginning the remodeling or refinishing.
• Whenever practical, open all windows and turn on films to increase the air flow into and through the house. This is especially important in the basement.
