‘Roxanne’
The movie Roxanne will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 26 and 27, at 7:30 each evening. The movie stars Steve Martin and Daryl Hannah. Steve Martin plays C.D., a modem update of Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, the noble Renaissance gent hampered by an oversized schnozz. Daryl Hannah plays Roxanne, the woman C.D. secretly falls in love with. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children. The movie is rated PG.
New Year’s Eve Coffeehouse
The Gallery Coffeehouse will have a special New Year’s Eve edition this year, ringing in the new year with an open mike, plenty of good company and an open invitation for all to join in. Admission is $3 per person, and refreshments will be available. Special favors will be served from 9 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. “Bring your talent and come,” said a coffeehouse sponsor.
Diet and nutrition program
Fauquier Hospital is starting a new diet and nutrition program called “Lean Living.” Interested persons can learn about the program at one of the free introductory meetings on Jan. 5, 6 or 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fauquier Hospital Educational Center.
