Eventually we came to Bolen cemetery, wherein lie many of ouf ancestors and relatives. Regressing a little, that stretch of territory we’d just walked through had been [much of it] owned by the Kelly’s and Bolens. We knew once at the cemetery we had a little more than a mile left to goNot

very far from exiting the park we were chatting and not having the faintest thought of such a thing, Dorothy fell as if she’d been shot, but kinda in slow motion. It happened do fast I could not help her. She caught herself before her nose hit the ground. Waiting for her to regain her composure we started again, again she went down, this time skinning her knee, but not seriously. She just rolled over on her back and lay there for a moment wondering why and what was causing this. I had to laugh, after knowing she was alright, but determining it was the slope or grade of the trail I suggested she trade sides with me. We walked on, then I nearly fell..surely it was the gravel.

We came out on to Route 614 , the boys coming to meet us...Josh with his arms outstretched says to us, “its about time.” At 5:30 we were on our way back to Culpeper and home. Tired and thirsty but satisfied knowing that if you want to do a thing all you have to have is a little gumption.
