Scholarships totaling more than $119,000 were awarded this fall to students attending Lord Fairfax Community College for the 1998-99 school year.

Recipients of some of these scholarships include Rappahannock County residents Grace Bailey, recipient of the Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Fund, Angela Frazier, who was awarded the Principal’s Scholarship, Crystal Leake, chosen to receive the College Board Scholarship, and Katy Paratore, who was awarded the Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Yurgatis Family Scholarship Endowment Fund.

Fifty-nine individual scholarships for both new and returning students were offered through the LFCC College Board and the LFCC Educational Foundation. Citizens in the community taking LFCC classes benefit from the monies raised at special events held each year by the Educational Foundation.
