match-up with Luray. This time the game was at Luray and the results would also be different. Offensively, they struggled to score the whole game and had a meager 14 points to show for their efforts. The final was Luray 36 and Rapp 14.
Volleyball
The Rappahannock Lady Panthers also found themselves in a three-game week and it didn’t start out too hot for the big girls. Monday, Dec. 10, the ladies traveled to Luray High School to finish off the home and away series with the Lady Bulldogs. Both the Varsity and JV teams would split the first two games with the home team, but in each case the Rapp side fell short in the third and final contest.
After a 15 to 3 opening loss, the Varsity Lady Panthers came back and handed the home team a 15 to 10 defeat. The girls wilted in the third and final game losing 15 to 2 in a contest full of way too many unforced errors on the Rapp side. • The JV team seemed to be following the same script as the Varsity when they lost their opening game 15 to 12 and won the second 15 to 10. The JV Lady Panthers couldn’t hold it together and fell in the final 15 to 11.
Wednesday, Dec. 12 had the girls’ back on the road for their Bull Run District opening season contest. The match was played at the home of the reigning District champions — the Clarke County Lady Eagles. It seemed like the Lady Panthers weren’t ready for the action, as both Rapp teams were quickly and soundly defeated.
