RCHS led 100 to 60 after Round 2, and kept its momentum in Round 3, with help from Matt Swain, Clay Vickers and Anna Kreyling who correctly identified U.S. Grant as the Union general at Cold Harbor, and the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu. The final score was Panthers 130, Clarke 80.
The second match of the evening was against a Manassas Park team that had challenged the Panthers the previous week. This match was no different.
After Round 1, RCHS trailed 30-40. Anna Kreyling captained the directed round and was a strong participant in this match, correctly answering “charter school, Addison’s disease, and boxing.”
A lowlight of the match for Coach Naser was the failure of his physics students, Welch and Williams to identify the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe whom he had discussed in the class that day, but the Panthers redeemed themselves by knowing Johannes Kepler.
