The schedule of events for the Blue Ridge Civil War Round Table for 2004 are as follows:
Meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month at the Rappahannock County Library l off Route 211 on Library Road just before getting into Little Washington). Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.
• Jan. 20: Members’ Show, and Tell. Members are asked to bring artifacts and/or share stories about their family in the Civil War.
• Feb. 17: Thomas Blumer, on Belle Boyd and Front Royal History in the Civil War.
• March 16: Art Candenquist on Dahlgren’s Raid into Richmond.
• April 20: Joe McKinney will be comparing the Cavalry of the Army of Northern Virginia and The Army of the Potomac.
• May 18: Frank Walker on the Mine Run Campaign.
• June 15: John Tole on the music of the Civil War 9 /with live music).
• July 20: Jeffrey F. Smith will be dressed in uniform and offer a visit from John Mosby.
• Aug. 17: Greg Metz will give an overview of the Battle of Gettysburg and its significance for both sides.
• Sept. 18: Saturday, BRCWRT Field Trip to Gettysburg.
• Oct. 19: Virginia Morton on John Pelham and Robert Beckham and their common destinies.
• Nov. 16: The Debate - “Should Virginia Secede or Not?” Members of the Round Table will debate whether the State of Virginia should secede from the Union.
• Dec. 14: Speaker TBA; annual dinner meeting.
