every week they made an entry, to recite horse information, rider information, silks colors, allowance and weight assignments, sometimes dictating information to volunteer staff who knew not of maidens versus novices, timber versus hurdles. To print a quality race program for the hunt clubs’ race meets, entries had to be as complete as possible, correct, error-free and timely, meaning some hunt clubs closed entries to their races earlier, or later, than others.
