• The headline screams “Murder in Gid Brown Hollow”. Twenty-nine year old Edward Fletcher, Jr., loses his life, slashed; it is alleged, by a knife wielded by Ira Wayne Cloniger. After a week in the woods, on foot, Cloniger is captured.
