Rappahannock News Staff Writer

The Town of Washington’s planned wastewater treatment system got a boost last week in the form a $4 million loan at 0 percent interest for 20 years.

Washington Mayor Eugene Leggett said the sum will be more than enough to pay for the installation of the wastewater treatment plant as well as the collection and discharge systems.

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality’s State Water Control Board awarded the loan through its Virginia Clean Water Revolving Loan Program.
