"er young adult years, she was a professional trumpet player and in the 1940s had her own dance band. Une evening in
the spring of 1948, a young soldier came into the club where she was playing, and fell in love at first sight. He returned every evening until she agreed to go out with him. They were married eleven days later and they celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary this year on April 17. After raising her daughters, Mrs. Genebach worked for many years as a store detective in Fairfax County. Virginia. She enjoyed her years in law enforcement and had an impressive arrest and conviction record. In 1976. she helped her daughter Sharon open her law practice in Washington, Virginia, and subsequently worked there as a legal secretary for thirty years. She loved her job. learning about the legal profession, and mastering the use of a computer in her 70s. She enjoyed her association with the attorneys, courthouse staff, clients and others she met through her work, and she became good friends with many of them. The family is grateful to Dr. James Dale of Luray, Virginia. Dr. Jerry Martin of Washington; Virginia, and Dr. Thomas Sentz of Warrenton, Virginia for their professional care and friendship during Mrs. Genebach's long illness, and to Gloria Treadway of Madison. Virginia, who provided loving home care to her during the last months of her life. Mrs. Genebach was much loved by her family and is greatly missed by them. Her ashes will be spread in the Genebach family plot in Battle Creek, Michigan.
