Scholastic Bowl Team does well at
national
tournament
Coach David Naser reports: “On May 31 and June 1, the Scholastic Bowl team competed at the “Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence National Scholastic Championship” at George Mason University in Fairfax. We competed against private schools, public schools,charter schools and Governors' Schools from the entire Eastern U.S. We took 34th place of 48 teams. Out of 12 matches played, Rapp went 5-7.Captain AJ Collins, a junior, was 14th highest individual scorer in the tournament Saturday (out of over 200 players). Contributions werealso made by all members present, with second most correct answers on our team by Tyler Crews. Participants included: Collins, Crews, NancyHerbert, Malcolm Perry. Steven Nelson, and Ely Ashby All in all, this was a very impressive showing given 4he level of competition. We will open up our season at home on Ortober 20 versus all other Bull Run opponents.”

Congratulations to RCHS students selected to attend Mountain Vista Governor's School. Rising juniors Austin Bumett, Tyler Crews and Joe Vickers will join rising senior Sarah Smoot at MVGS in the fall.
