June 29: Fauquier Ree Cflnfc 5K/10K run
The Fauquier Free Clinic will host the Pacemakers 5K/10K run, rain or shine, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on June 29. A first for the Free Clinic, the event will be a fundraiser, the entire community is invited.
The scenic runs on well-marked courses will start from the airstrip at Airlie Conference Center. There will be a 5K run/walk (3.1 miles): a 10K run (6.2 miles) and a kids' fun run (under 1 mile). The kids' fun run will be sponsored by Piedmont Pediatrics and Woodside Pediatric Dentistry.
Refreshments and water stops will be available along the way and all pre-registered entrants will receive a free T-shirt. Registrations received before June 25 are $30. The fee for the kids' fun run is $10. Same day registrations must be finished by 8 a.m. and will cost $35. Checks may be made out to “Fauquier Free Clinic" and may be mailed to Pacemakers Run, P.O. Box 3138, Warrenton, VA 20188.
On the Run Sports will handle the race timing and drinks will be provided by Function Drinks.

July 4: Fireworks
Co-chairs Richie Burke and Gary Settle, along with their committee, are planning this year’s firework’s celebration which benefits the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department. The festivities will take place on Friday, July 4, at the Thornton Hill Hounds race course. There will be plenty of food and entertainment before the fireworks light up the skies. Groups, whether nonprofit or for-profit, are encouraged to participate. Sponsorships are available.
