July 4: Fireworks

Co-chars Richie Burke and Gary Settle, along with their committee, are planning this year's firework's celebration which benefits the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department. The festivities will take place on Friday, July 4 at the Thornton Hill Hounds race course. There will be plenty of food and entertainment before the fireworks light up the skies. Groups, whether nonprofit or for-profit, are encouraged to participate. Sponsorships are available. Thank an American troop in harms way through Operation Gratitude on July Fourth in downtown Culpeper. Take a few minutes as we celebrate our freedom, and write a note of encouragement and thanks to our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, or to those injured at Walter Reed Medical Center. Tables wilt be set up on Davis St. 7 a.m. -3 p.m.. and at Yowell Meadow Park 3 pm - dusk. Children may create their own cards with stickers and markers.

Bring an address of your loved one or friend serving, and they will receive a special note of thanks, and a free gift. Bring their picture in uniform and add it to our wall of prayer and honor.
