Sewer Timetable
• April 3 - Signed waiver must be returned to Laura Dodd at Town Hall for those property owners who wish not to have their names and sewer assessment fees published in the Rappahannock News. • April 8 - Regularly scheduled town council meeting to discuss project progress and procedures for anyone disputing assessment fees. A date will be set for hearing disputes. • April 17 - Sewer application and signed easement agreement due. If opting for a larger tank, $1,500 upgrade charge also due at this time. • April 23 (tentative) - Special town council hearing for anyone disputing their sewer assessment fees. • Oct. 1 - First of five installments of assessment or access fee due. If single residential, 1 /5th of $7,500 or $1,500 due Oct. 1.
• Nov.-Dee. - Upon notification from town to proceed, property owners will have 60 days to run plumbing and electrical from their building or house to the pump/grinder station on their property. An assigned date will be published to disconnect septic tanks and connect to town sewer. Septic tanks and septic fields must then be decommissioned in accordance to Health Department procedures which will be available at Town Hall and the Health Department.
