Sallie Morgan, Aging Together project director and Chris Miller, project manager gave presentations at the annual Aging in America conference in Las Vegas on March 16.
Morgan and Miller presented at three different sessions at the joint conference held by the American Society on Aging and National Council on Aging. Topics included building successful local partnerships; partnerships that connect older adults to services; and creating capacity in a local community.
These sessions highlighted successes of the Aging Together partnership in the five-county area which includes Rappahannock, bringing recognition to the area for the work of the partnerships made up of over 100 members.
In addition to the national recognition, Aging Together has been asked to present in state-wide conferences at the Virginia Department for the Aging’s Age Wave Conference for local county governments on May 20 and the Aging with Life Long Disabilities in June.
“It is all the people in the Aging Together Partnership who are making the difference, every day, for older adults and their families. We thank all our members for the work which has given this partnership its success, recognition and visibility,” said Morgan. “We have great hopes for the future as we continue to work together.”
