men apparently Drone a sliding glass window to get into the kitchen where money was taken from the register.

Butler said he and his wife, Rebecca, and daughter Stephanie Shaw co-own and operate the restaurant, which he said has been broken into “numerous" times since opening 11 years ago. He couldn’t say why, other than it being at one of the county's busiest crossroads, and “maybe it looks like an easy target, though it isn’t.”

Alarms set off during the break-in were relayed by private security to the Sheriffs Office, but by the time he arrived, Welch said, the perpetrators were gone. Welch also said there was an attempted break-in at Burgers N Things in early October.

The restaurant was closed the next day for repairs, Butler said, but reopened Thursday.

The Sheri fif s Office asked anyone with information in the case to contact Lt. Welch at 540-675-5300.
