Newspaper readers. We at the Rappahannock News continue to be thankful for the opportunity to come into your home every Thursday.
We also recognize people in harm’s way. Young men and women in military uniforms. Police, fire and rescue people. Because they’re out there, we’re more safe.
An elderly friend recently said she begins every morning by giving thanks for another day.
We should all, no matter what our age, give thanks for the blessings we take for granted and be thankful for another day, especially one in beautiful Rappahannock.
2009 Citizen of the Year
We are thankful to have as many citizens as we
do who give so heartily to make our county a
better place in which to live. They volunteer their time and expertise, give service to those in need, improve and protect the environment, mentor children, protect neglected pets and do whatever is needed when they see a need.
We ask our readers to email or write us the names of citizens they feel should be nominated for Citizen of the Year and tell us why. The award is given annually by the Rappahannock News. This is a person who has gone above and beyond to contribute to the betterment of the county.
