,^S WE ASSESS the past year we can say that "we have left undone those things we should have done, and done thosi/things which we should not have done.” Regard loss of our good resolutions and regardless of our efforts and good intentions we can never get around to doing all of the things we should do. It is equally true that we will do those things we should not do. So when it is time for New Year’s resolutions we can consider only the most important things we should do and the most import ant things we should not do. To attempt a blanket, .resolution covering all of our frail ties is to be swamped to the point that Now Year’s resolutions far exceed our ability to cope. It is not so it we choose our principal deficiencies and concentrate on them, re lying for help upon One stronger than we are. In our own strength we are unable to cope with strongly entrenched habits, and we must call upon God for help, which means daily contacts through prayer. Tift* greater number of human frailties are those of omission. Possibly the great est crime against ourselves is the wastage of time. Time moves on incessantly, a min ute lost or squandered can not be recover ed. it is gone forever. Therefore, the sys tematic use of time is one of life's most.im portant problems. The people* we know who things done are thosje who appropriate their time* to the various activities. Some how they get around to do the majority of the things they have planned to do. It is an art. gained through training and wise plan ning. Tin ideal would be eight hours for labor, eight hours for refreshment, and eight hours for rest, but we know of few who are abbs to maintain such a schedule. We don’t know that progress could, have been made under this schedule. Thomas Edison i- -aid to have used only four hours in rest, and other men and women who have contributed greatly to the progress of mankind have.* exceeded the ideal schedule.
