Sale campaign, the Southside Association raised $15,030 to support its program and its share of funds for the state or ganization. The drive goal was $15,000. For its seal sale work- first major project undertaken the As Brenda Wells Wins Statewide Contest On C onservation Brenda Wells daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wells, of Fanrs ville. won a grand prize in the tenth annual wildlife essay con test sponsored by the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries and the Virginia divi sion of the Izaak Walton League of America. A $400 scholarship was awarded for the best essay written by a high school senior, and eight $50 prizes were awarded for the best essays written by fifth through twelfth graders. Quinn, commission executive director, will speak, and the con test winners woll be honored at a luncheon. More than 10.000 essays from all over Virginia were submitted this year on the topic.
