Railroaders Top Wolverines 9-2 Crewe’s ace pitcher, Sterling Horner, went the distance Wed nesday night and was credited with a 9-2 win over Farmville High's Wolverines. The Wolverines will be given a chance for revenge Monday night as they meet the Railroaders in a return engagement. Earl Fore, Farmville twirler, had trouble with his control as he walked six and hit one. Hor ner walked only one and hit two with a pitched ball. With the score 2-1 going into the fifth inning, Crewe broke loose with a volley of hits and pushed across four runs. They added three runs in the sixth for good luck. Fowlkes scored Farmvillc’s first run in the fourth inning. He sin gled to get on base, and then ad vanced to third. He stole home on a wild pitch. Farmville’s second run came in the fifth. McIntosh was driven home when Claybough rapped out a triple. Dumkum and Hodges got hits in the seventh inning, but -excel lent pitching by Crewe’s Homer cut off any chance of a last inn ing rally. Extra base hits were made for the Crewe nine by Bennett. Jen kins and Addleman. Addleman led the batting with two doubles and a single in four trips to the plate.
