Jenkins Hollow Now

Becoming IModernized’

The development of a vacation and retirement home section in Jenkins Hollow, between Sperryville and the F. T. Valley by S. E. Hening, is making progress. Along with the purchase of properties by those who are attracted by the nature1 beauties of the mounains, springs and streams, the Section is becoming “modernised*’. The • survey for electric service has' been completed and the stakes set ready for the erection of poles. Both the old residents and the newcomers are enthusiastically welcoming %the prospect ofhaving electric current connected to their homes in the near future.

Two roads from Sperryville lead to the section—one is secondary road No. 600, leaving Sperryville at James Atkins’ store, the other leaving the Lee Highway at Estes Mill. Another route is a good gravel road from FT Valley by Piedmont Baptist church. The shortest route is by secondary road No. 608 from F.T. Valley work has been started by the highway- department for the improvement .of this road which is nine-tenths of a mile ' long.. '
