, The Amateur Program sponsored by the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Episcopal church, Friday evening, December 2, proved, a big success from the standpoint of entertainment. First place in the Story Book character contest was won by Sandra Menefee, who represented the Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe. Peachie Lyne, as Mother Hubbard, won' second place—in spite of the fact that her dog looked well fed. Edna Yates Schaefer, as a gypsy, won third place. For the musical numbers Melody Ranch, won first place. The cowboys of this ranch were J. W. Brown, Buddy Devers, Larry Dodson and Kenneth Clater. Jo Ellen Wo'rht and Joan Kelly Aylor won second place with their rendition of “A White Christmas”, and Mrs. Susie Kilby in a burlesque of a grand opera singer won third.

Mr. Lemle, from Stephens City took pictures of the children on Friday, December 2. We are glad to report that the camera was not broken^ but we all noticed „ that some of the teachers had their pictures made!
