“Madam L. is wanted in the auditorium to practice the special music.”

From the former statements you have probably drawn the conclusion that cur subject for this sketch is an accomplished pianist. Although she took formal piano lessons for only three months, she has cu'tiva'ed by practice, her love for music into a recognized talent. As the school pianist. Madam L. is always in demand and she readily gives of Jier time and talent.

Our heroine was born in “• Am-iswilU--''" some—tJ-. -ye.ar>- aeo_ She received her elementary education in Herndon and in Amissville, where she had the exciting times, which she still remembers and tells to her classmates. Her last five years have been spent at Washington High.

Madam L. receives high grades on • her studies, is on the Honor Roll and has recently been named as an outstanding student by the “High School Register.”

As co-captain of the softball team “Blue Bonnets” Madam L. has held down the position of catcher.

With her energetic cheers for goo<l old W.HjS. Madam L. as cheerleader, has pepped up the Panthers and their supporters.

Floyd Hitt nicknamed ‘Floatie’ is to the dismay of the boys of . WHS Madam L.’s one and only.

Her friendly smile, which gives you a glimpse of her magnetic personality has made her popular with both pupils and teachers. A sense of humor, which is rapidly aroused at every humorous incident, has made school more enjoyable by the seniors of 1949-50. ^

Madam L. has written several interesting articles in the “Little Washington Post”.

When LL'CY MAE SMITH receives Her diploma this spring, Washington High wili lose a wonderful all-around girl.
