J. E. Johnson, resident engineer of the state highway department, discussed matters pertaining to the work and cost of improvements on secondary roads in the county at the December meeting of the Board of Supervisors^ held at the CotuVthouse Wednesday morning, December 7.

The board fixed the salaries of all county '’officials for at the same as the previous year.

The board appointed a committee to prepare the county budget: C. R. Wood, county treasurer; (R. V. Snead, Commonwealth Attorney, A. C. Latham, chairman of the board, Q. D, Casque,' superintendent of schools, Mrs. W. A. Runtin, public welfare, and James M\ Settle, clerk. —*

No information has been received towards** the capture of George Robert Fipcham, wanted for murder, for whose apprehension the board offered $100 reward at the last meeting.

AH board members were present except H. B. Wood of Woodville, absent due to illness.
