Caleb Pennock, Farm Forester for Northern Virginia, located at Warrenton, will give a demonstration on timber stand_ improvement at 10 o’clock the morning of Tuesday, December 13 at Eugene Hensley’s place near Oastlebon. While this demonstration has been arranged primarily for Dick Miller’s veterans class, any interested farmer will be welcomed.
The 1945 farm census knows there are 25,228 acres in woodland here in Rappahannock. Mr. Pennock demonstrate how^
selective’ cuttifi^\Wij| tend to insure how this land; under proper management will yield a crop of timber and thereby increase the farm income.
* * * - We notice on the sale bill of farm equipment and livestock of Dr. James G. Brown, to be auctioned Wednesday, December 14, includes 78 head of Angus cows and 19 head of Aigus heifers. Here’s hoping these cattle will remain in Rappahannock, as they are. the sort desired.
