Clubs and organizations established by Mr. Link to encourage student leadership rwere Student Council, library club, first-aid club, projector club, and glee club. Under his leadership and guidance a school paper, "The Little Washington Post," was published by the students, and the first high school annual, “The Echo," was compiled by the seniors of 1948-49.
Besides acting as' principal. Prof. Link coached the Panthers, W. H. S.’s basketball team. Each year a successful athletic team was organised. In 1944 the Panther boys seised the district championship and in 1948 they were . in second place. The girls had outstanding teams during this period, losing only one or two games out of a schedule of 17 per season.

Bobby Carter Is All-Star
Bobby Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carter of Amissville, was taken in the Virginia Chapter of 4-H All Stars at Blacksburg . last Friday.
This is one of the highest honors paid to a 4-H member in the State. In order to become an All Star you must be at least 15 years of age, an outstanding 4-H member for at least 3 years and show co-operative spirit, among his fellow members. He must be passed on and approved by the All Stan of the county and is observed by All Stars at the State 4-H Short Course to make sure, he meets with all of the rigid qualifications.
