The day was sunny. The spirit, were high. The Flint Hill Athletic Club pranced on the field to meet their first opponents—Fredericksburg—who didn’t have a chance!

The days was too hot; iwhat they wouldn’t do for 'some spirits.

Of course, Sunday was the A. C.’s first game.
Managers Foster and Bennett urge every able-bodied ball player in Rappahannock to join the squad.

BRIDGE PARTY AT HUNTLY
Mrs. Earl Edmonds was hostess to the bridge club at her home in Huntly Thursday evening.
Mrs. John L. Wirtz won the high score prize, Mrs. J. E. Keyser, Jr., the second highest one and the third highest score prize was received by Mrs. A. M. Hickman.
Others playing were Mrs.Maude Gore, Mrs. J. E. Keyser, Mrs. Frances Bradford, Mrs. Fisher Bur ford, Mrs. Jean Moffett, Mrs. R. V. Snead, Mrs. E. M. Jones, Mrs. John R. DeBergh, Mrs. W. R. Cheatham, and Mrs. H. C. Warwick.
LEGION AUXILIARY MEETS
American Legion Auxiliary twill be held July 11, 8 p.m. jn Washington Firehouse. Membcps will begin work at this meeting on gifts for the Veterans’ gift shops in one of the veterans’ hospitals.
Materials twill be available for stencilling cloth, painting, and stencilling trays. Bring materials for whatever you wish to make.
