The publicity committee, with Mrs. R. L. Massie as chsirman, and the soliciting committee, with Mah Ion Ramey as chairman, held their first meeting in the Courthouse Monday evening.

BIRTHDAY PARTY

• Mr. and Mrs. Lee Swindler entertained Wednesday afternoon in honor of the 18th birthday of their son, Bill. Present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stier of California, Mrs. Kathdrine Trescott, Miss Irene Keyser, Mrs. Virginia M. Lewis, Mrs. Charles Howard, Miss Annie Belle Estes, Mrs. Randolph Defers, Miss Margaret Ann Devers, Miss Betty Taylor Bruce, Misses Joan and Joyce Mothers. Refreshments were served by the hostess.
