Forest Grove 4-H club meets July 10, 1:30 p.m., with MlfS. Clarence Scott.

Sperryv'ille 4-H club will meet with Mrs. Lucio Kilby, July 11, 2 p.m.

Chester Gap 4-H club will meet July 11, 1:30 p.m. with Mrs. Stanley Williams.

Huntly 4-H club meets with Mrs. Pearl Mills, July 11, 10 a.m.; half-day meeting.

Amissville 4-D club meets July 12, at 2 p.m., with Mrs. Will Walters.

F. T. Valley H-D club meets July 13, 2 p.m., with Mrs. C. R. Hite.

Washington 4-H club meets July 14, 10 a.m. at high school in Washington. Swimming in the afternoon.

Last week the home agent and assistant farm agent were in Blacksburg attending the annual state 4-H short course. With them were four 4-H girls, two 4-H boys and a leader: Bobby Carter of Amissville, Douglas Martin from Amissville, Lois Racer of Washington, Bonnie Gentry of Flint Hill, Mary Fox of Huntly, Doris Pritchett of Huntly, and Mrs. Barbara Gentry, leader.

Handsome Highway

The Johnny Appleseed Highway, a 250-mile route between Pomeroy and Toledo, Ohio, which will be bordered with flowering crabapple trees, is suggested as a model of landscaping and beautification for other highways by Victor Reis, Ohio extension floriculturist.

Auxiliary To Fire Co.

Organized Al Sperryville

An auxiliary to the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Company was organized Tuesday, June 27, when a group of local ladies met in the Sperryville auditorium at the request of the men of the fire company. G. M. Black, fire chief, stated that the men would like to have some support, moral and financial, from the ladies. In fact, Mr. Black said, the men felt they needed their help in the present goal to purchase new equipment. The old fire truck is considered inadequate to serve the needs of the community over the rural roads.

Miss Mary Miller Wood, past president of Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary,— and Miss Ruby Jenkins, secretary, were present to answer the many questions about the formation and organization of an auxiliary.

The following officers twere elected: Mrs. J. H. Aylor, president; Mrs. Lee Thornton, vicepresident; Mrs. Janie B. Jarvis, secretary; and Mrs. Z. H. Sealock, treasurer.

There will be another meeting Monday, July, 10, at 8 p.m. in Sperryville school auditorium. All ladies of the community are urged to attend and help the fire company by working in the auxiliary.
