NeUon Helms, Wes ting house represent*tire, shows two towels used in * demonstration at Wood Brothers Packing House, Tuesday, June 20.
Mr. Helms took the two towels; one he left clean; on the other he smeared vegetable shorten* ing, motor oil, and iodine. He then placed the two towels, clean and dirty, into the Westinghouse Laundromat. While the Laundromat was in the process of washing the towels, a lighted cigarette was thrown into the water.
In the “after” picture above Mr. Helms exhibits the towels when the Laundromat had done its work. The clean towel was not stained by the dirt from the other, and both towels appear as if new.
