Wade Hampton ; Yowell
Funeral serviced were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from Etlan Methodist church for Wade Hampton Yowell, 83, who died Friday, October 13 at the home of his sonin-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Mitchell, Peola Mills. The (Rev. A. Paul Thompson and Rev., J. L. Clements conducted the last rites. One of the largest assemblages ever gathered at this church for a similar occasion bore testimony of the love and respect felt for him by his fellow-citizens of the community in which he had been a prominent farmer until his health became impaired.
Mr. Yowell, son of the late Joihannous Yowell, and the late Elizabeth Yowell of Rappahannock county is survived by his daughter, Mrs. O. G. Mitchell, of Peola Mills, and four sons, Dutton E. Yowell and Gilbert Yowell of Etlan; James Yowell of Charlottes-. Ville, and Sam Yowell of Rapidan; 15 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Snead, Frank Dodson, Festus Hudson, Frank Mitchell, Earl Kilby, Jim Lillard, Rodes Brown, Elzy Brown, Charlie Coates, Edward Coates, Johnny Lillard, Daniel Berry, Douglas J. Coppedge, Earle Coppedge, A. W. Yowell, Clarence Coppedge, James Pullen, Charles Jenkins, Thomas Brown, B. W. Aylor, L. P. Coates, J. L. Yowell, Irvin Weakley, Tom Coates, J. E. Gordon, Lester Utz, Henry Yowell, Rarston Jenkins, C. F. Blankenibaker, John W. Jenkins, Jim Bill Coates, Frank Coates, C. G. Southard and Henry Smith.
Interment was in the family section of Etlan cemetery beside his wife, Mrs. Cora Alice Yowell, who died early last spring.
