The U. S. Air Force, working to maintain ita strength, has begun an intensive drive to enlist qualified men and women for various duties in the Air Force, according to U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force Recruiting Station, 126 S. Main Street, Culpeper.
Men and women between the ages of 17 and 35 are wanted. No specific amount of education is required but an applicant must pass a mental test, which is quite difficult to make unless one has had some high school education, the recruiting office advises.
Those interested may apply direct to the Culpeper recruiting office either by writing or by going there in person.
Hallowe'en Carnival At
Rapp'k High School
A Hallowe’en Carnival will be held at Rappahannock High School in Washington, Friday night, October 27. This is a school party for the entire county, since Rappahannock High School is now the property of the entire county.—
The Hallowe’en Carnival runs true to the festive holiday, with a Fish Pond, a House of Horrors, a Cake Walk, and all the regular features of a full-force party.
This is the only money-making aotivity for the school in the entire year and a goal is set to help finance activities of the school.
The party begins at 7:30 and everyone from the whole county is expected to be present and join in the fun.
