' Election day is coming op in a couple of weeks—November 7, to be exact. ‘Hake no excuses, and let no one fool you "With stupid reasons, it’s your duty to do your voting.
Complain long and loud, if you please, of every piece of the government you don’t like. That’s your privilege. But remember that the government is no better and no worse than you have ma'de it. iYou voted for those to lead it.
Granted: the best Congressmen •nd Senators are the ones we put there, but how are they to know that we approve of the fine work they are doing if we don’t go to the polls and roll up a big vote for them. That’s the way to show that iwe approve their stands for a good, solid, conservative country.
Our Congressman comes up for re-election on November 7. "Heck, there's no, need’, to swort,y,” you’ll hear some say. Put yourself in his shoes; suppose you had worked long, hard, and faithfully serving the people of Rappahannock and all their best interests. Yet on the day you were being re-elected, they didn’t even have sufficient appreciation to go to the polls and mark the ballot.
Let’s show that this county—as a whole—believes in a democratic government, “of the people, by the people, for the people,” and every man shall do his duty on election day by voting.
There are 257 votes in Wakefield District; 216 in Jackson; 397 in Hampton; 307 in Piedmont; 126 in Hawthorne; and 223 in Stonewall.
It will be interesting to see the results of the election to see how many in each district will be on hand to vote.
