Collier’s Magazine Has
Story on “She Town”
I. T. Tweed, of Collier’s Magaine, was in Washington Tuesday afternoon to tell about the forth* coming story in the November 4 issue of the magazine on the ladies’ election, entitled “SheTown.”
Mr. Tweed said that he was using the visit as an excuse to shake hands with a mayor, since !he had never met one. Mrs. Davis graciously welcomed him to the town and shook his hand. Now he can brag that he has not only met a mayor, but has shaken hands with the prettiest one in the country.
The story of Washington, or “She-Town,” as Collier’s calls it (quoting Dr. Snead), will be on ' sale Friday, October 7, at Rappahannock News, and in front of the Courthouse Saturday, October 8.
The ^gentleman from Collier’s showed the five color pictures that were to appear in the magazine along with Ed Lockett’s story. ^Tha. pictures are beautiful in color—especially the one showing the countryside. (Perhaps it is better to say the one of D. Lyle Miller, Snippy Miller, and George Da\is is a good likeness, rather than that it is “pretty.”)
Mr. Tweed reports that the story didn’t miss an item—everything’s in it.
