Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Johnson, of Amiesville,' twill celebrate their •5'Oth weddnganniversary April 19, 1962.
Mr. Johnson was raised at Homeland, Virginia, by Miss Julian Johnson, educator and Mrs. Johnson is a native of York, Pennsylvania. Her father was G. D. Fisher, a United Brethren minister. -
Mr. Johnson was sent to VPI by his uncle, B. F. Johnson of Richmond, where he took Mechanical Engineering. After leaving Blacksburg, Mr. Johnson’s first job was on the drafting staff at Newport News Shipbuilding Company. He was engineer inspector for the U. S. Government during World War I on ship building, covering the United States. His last job iwas Research Engineer for Yale and Towne Mfg. Co., Philadephia. Between his above rssignments, Mr. Johnson was superintendent for .Smalley General Co., Bay City,
