Soil Saver Notes
Twenty five Culpeper and Rappahannock County farmers are in the process of establishing wildlife food and cover patches and woodland borders of Biceler Lespedeza, this week. The Culpeper Soil Conservation District has made available to farmers various kinds of seed mixtures as well as Biceler plants, that provide food for quail and other birds during the winter when the ground-is -covered-with snow.
Among these farmers who have taken a special interest in a wildlife program on their farms are ineluded: John S. Thornton, Culpeper; W. D. Troxell, Rapidan; J. M. Dyer, Rixeyillle; Dr. P. A. Williams, Rapidan; Oliver Durant, Griffinsburg; T. G. Ragsdale, Brandy and L. L. Strauss, Brandy, all Culpeper County farmers. Earl Combs, Woodville; and C. R. Wire, Washington, both Rappahannock County farmers are getting started this year in their rather extensive wildlife program.
