Entering its second year of Sunday afternoon open air concerts, the current Blue Ridge Music Festival will get underway with the first of five August concerts on August 3 at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).— A summer project of the State symphony, The Festyal concerts are held at Avon Mills, a pre-Revolutionary grist mill, just 12 miles from the. Skyline Drive on U. S. Route 211 (Lee Highway). Attracting over 12(J0 people from the Old Dominion, Maryland, West Virginia and the District of Columbia, this season’s Festival is planning to expand its program schedule in the same manner that it has increased its school of music by leasing the larger Stuyves- * ant School and also adding to its training schedule.
