Annual Meeting of W. M. U.
Held Near Gulpeper
The Sixth Annual Meeting of the Woman’s Missionary Union Auxiliary to the Shiloh Baptist Association was held with New Salem Baptist Church near Culpeper on Thursday, June 26. High lights of the business session Were: Election of officers and the Reporting Period which was conducted by Miss Russell Colvin, associational Superintendent. An interesting and instructive program was rendered. The principal talk was given by Miss Ellen Douglas Oliver. State W.M.U. secretary who spoke on the subject, “Behold Him as Savior.” Mrs. James Atkins of Sperryville gave several beautiful vocal selections _among ...them—werc“The Lord's Prayer” and “The Stranger of Galilee.”
Among those from Washington who attended the meeting were Mrs. J. Frank Jones Mrs. Lewis J. Turner, Mrs. C. G. Reid, Mrs. W. CL Campbell, Mrs. Gilbert Updike, Mrs. Susie Pullen and Miss Gladys Payne. -The ladies of the association accepted the invitation from the ladies of the Washington Baptist Church to meet with them next summer.
