Ivory Atkins, Lelia Gentry and the home agent attended the State Farm Electric Congress''held in Richmond Thursday and Friday. A very well planned program was conducted during the Congress. Highlights of the trip included a tour of the stat* capital by 4-H’ers, selection of district winners with each of these giving a talk on “My 4-H Achievements in Farm and Home Electric Project.” Thursday an original and entertainng “high voltage” patty was conducted by Jack Tyree, Associate State 4-H Club Agent. Before luncheon on Thursday, Lelia was elected to lead the Congress in 4-H pledge.
A cotton bag contest, sponsored by Cotton Bag Council and Singer Sewing Machine Co., will be held this week between clubs in the county carrying “So You’d Like To Sew” project during the past year. The winner will be selected on basis of number of participating, variety of articles and workmanship. The county winner will send an exhibit to Richmond to compete in the state contest for a portable electric sewing machine.
