Pvt. Atkins With
1st Cavalry Division
WITH THE 1ST CAVALRY DIV. IN JAPAN—Pvt. Bobby W Atkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee K. Atkins, Sperryville, recently arrived in Japan and is serving with the 1st Cavalry Division.
Veterans of the Korean conflict are giving intensive field training to the new replacements in the unit on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. The division spent 17 months in the combat zone before being rotated out of the line last December.
Private Atkins entered the Army last March and was formerly stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
