these heavy machines can move dirt more cheaply than it can be moved by hand, particularly when_ the dirt removed from the aitch must be spread some distance from the ditch. More and more farmers are requesting assistance in farm drainage from the Culpeper Soil Conservation District.
Reports from the various schools in Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties indicate that many students are entering the Natural Resources Poster Contest. The Culpeper Soil Conservation District is sponsoring the contest and is giving cash prizes for all winners in both the county and district contests.
Culpeper and Rappahannock counties had most of the winners last year. T. G. Ragsdale, Brandy and J.E. ^ ates, Huntly, Soil - Conservation District Supervisors from Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties respectively, want the schools in their counties to bring home the bacon again this year.
The district contest brings together the counties of Culpeper, Orange, Madison, Greene arid Rappahannock.
