altar banked with ferns, gladiolus, asters and candles. A program of nupial music was played by Miss Jane Cox.' Jack Brown of Sperryville sang “ Because" and “The Lords Prayer."

ihe bride, given in marriage by her father, wore her sister’s wedding gown of satin and chantilly type lace. Her fingertip veil fell from a tiara-of seed pearls and she carried her maternal grandmother’s prayer book covered with satin and lace and topped with a white orchid.

Mrs. Harry Emmett Long was her sister’s matron of honor. Miss Eleanor Hoover of Timberville was maid of honor.

Miss Jean Taylor, of Dunn Loring sister of the groom, and Mrs, Warren G. Hash, of Charlottesville, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. All attendees wore floor length gowns of deep purple velvet and net with matching headdress and mils and carried baskets of multicolored asters, pom poms and ivy. James Thornton of Athens, Georgia and Sperryvlle, served as best rnan. Ushers were Coverly Biller, New Market; James L. Branner, Timberville; Thomas Taylor, brother of the groom, of Sperryville; William Houser of Natural Bridge; and Robert Flungherty of Arlington. Bobby Branner and Lanny Branner, cousins of the bride, were taper lighters, and Master Lee Kent Branner was ring bearer.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the Social Hall ot the Church. Those atsisting with the reception, which under the direction of Mrs.tThomas E. Martin, were Mrs. Lester Miner, Mrs. (_. W. Long,-Mrs. Lynn Keyser, Mrs. Anna Hildreth, Mrs. Judy Snow, Mrs. Marianne Garber, Mrs. H. E. C lougherty, Jr., Miss Evelyn Clem, Miss Arlene Knupp, Miss Nancy Lee Hollar, Mrs. Oscar Holm, Mrs. Marion Hulvey, Mrs. Bi)l Hulvey, Mrs. Bill Rosenberger, Mrs. Oliver Stoneburner and Miss Elizabeth Hite. Miss Sallie Miller, aunt of the bride, wore a black faille dress with "■black accessories and a white orchid corsage.
