Mrs. John Wood and son, Jenner, who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Miller at “Millermead,” returned with Mr. Wood on Sunday. Mrs. Wood met her husband at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he flew down from Cleveland for the game on Saturday. After the North Carolina - Texas game , Mr. and Mrs. Wood and John Wright of Cleveland spent Saturday night in the Miller home and they with their son, returned to Cleveland, where Mr. Wood and Mr. Wright have positions with the Dan River Mills.
Mrs. E. W. Riley of Charlottesvile and Miss Clara McNarhora of St. Louis were visitors of Mrs. Riley’s son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John R. DeBergh at Harris Hollow Farm on Wednesday and 1 hursday.
Mrs. B. J. Racer and daughters, Elizabeth and Louise-’and Marvin Burke were Sunday guests of Mrs. Lee Fincham.
Mrs. Arthur Edmonds and daughters, Rebecca and Louise were dinner ’ guests on Wednesday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Burke, celebrating the birthday of Mrs. Edmonds’s brother, Clyde Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Burke had as their guests over the weekend their grandsons, Richard and David Burke of Culpeper while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Trenton Burke were in Richmond attending the Atlantic Rural Exposition. Mr. and Mrs. T. C.
