Grandmother loved to grow and to use a variety of herbs and spices to give her food pep and zest; but modem cookery has neglected these interesting flavors until recently. Now herb shops and homemakers are becoming interested in knowing how to grow and use these herbs.
The most commonly used herbs today are chives, parsley, mine, and sage but dill, tarragon, sweet marjorm and thyme are worth the gardner's notice.

Health Conference Held At
Amissville School
Dr. Walter Johnson, Health Officer fpr„ Fauquier, prince s William and Rappahannock Counties, spoke at the regular meeting of the Amissville Parent-Teachers Association on November 6 at 8 p. m.
Dr. Johnson spoke on Public Health and- explained the - service rendered by the Health Department, the efforts to control Communicable diseases and the efforts to improve sanitation.
