THANKSGIVING DINNER
A Thanksgiving Dinner and bazaar will be held at Amissville Baptist Youth Center (next to Post Office), Thursday, November 27, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Every one is cordially invited.

James A. Smoot of Washington and Thomas Jett of Huntly left on Tuesday, November 25 for Alexandria for the Armed Foi*ces.
Thomas M. Hughes, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Puller Hughes, left Friday for Ft. Meade, Maryland, where he will enter the Armed Forces.
RETURNS FROM ALASKA
Major and Mrs. James R. Hughes and sons, Bobbie and Richard have returned from Anchorage. Alaska, where they have been for the past two years. At present they are visiting Dr. and Mrs. Robert F- Caverlee in Fredericksburg. Major Hughes and family will spend Thanksgiving with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Puller A. Hughes of "Horse Shoe Hill.”

It is a dirty trick to bring unpleasantness into the happy holiday season, but there is a request to remind everyone that next Friday is December 6 and the final day for payment of taxes without having that extra 5% stuck on for penalty.
That spoiler - of - holidays, that wolf in sheep's clothing, that thief of baby's , candy — the tax collector (please observe no names are called)—has insisted folks be reminded of taxes dne.
