Yes, it’s just that. Tootsie is dead* Tootsie had never been sick in her long, productive life-time until she got out and licked some paint in the city dump. Lead poisoning set in, seemingly Tootsie knew she was going to die and hid herself. After hours of searching she was found and the family was mighty pleased though deeply saddened over her condition. The veterinarian was called and he did all he could for Tootsie, but her eighteen years plus the lead poisoning proved too much. She fought her brave fight for nearly two weeks and then went quietly to sleeo, forever.
